Spit Roasters for sale
Hog, Pig, and
Lamb Roasting equipment for sale.
If you want to buy a spit roaster beware; a whole host of
illegal spit roasters are now on the market in the UK. Some direct
copies of our proven designs and some looking like converted
wheel barrows. You can rest assured that the CE approval of
our spit roasters will ensure that you will have many
years of trouble free use.
You will see various spit roasters on the market proudly
announcing "version MK 5", and "20 years experience", these
statements must mean
they struggle to get it right first time leaving those
unfortunate customers that bought previously with worthless
pieces of equipment.
The majority of spit roasters are not CE
approved.
We have a variety of 30 machines in stock at the beginning
of the season which are available for daily rent, weekly rent,
lease, seasonal rental contract or outright purchase. Those that
have previously purchased non CE approved spit
roasters from other Companies should use the power of their
Trading Standards to obtain refunds prior to purchasing our top
of the range CE
approved machines.
Using the very best C.A.D. (Computer Aided Design) packages
we have been able to produce the highest specification
spit roaster in the UK and European markets,
first time!
Laser guided computer controlled machinery ensures
that same quality is consistent year after year, roaster after
roaster.
As the largest spit roasting Company in Europe we
investigated all the UK spit roast suppliers and manufacturers
between 2001 - 2006. To
our horror only two were able to provide CE approval
documentation, one machine was imported from Germany and the
other was "Built in the UK"
Roaster length, weight, rotating height, width, carving height,
rotation speed, all have an important role to play if you are
taking the spit roasting business seriously when you want to operate reliably and professionally.
Roaster
length
is important because hogs and lambs are like people, some long,
some fat, or short. Therefore you have to have a machine long
enough to accommodate an animal with either head on or head off.
Most of the spit roast machines you see on the Internet (apart
from being rusty) will show photos with
their heads off. The sales pitch might be that the customer prefer the
head off, that is simply untrue, we have only been asked to
remove the pigs head perhaps 3 or 4 times in the past 6 years.
Roaster
Weight
is important
because you can’t safely fit a 75kg pig onto a machine that is
made of the thinnest stainless or mild steel construction. The
roasters bend
and become unstable which is where the CE Approval comes in.
Those types of roasters will never get approval.
Roaster
Height
becomes
important when carving and turning the hog, lamb or beef. If the
carving position is too low the carver gets back ache, or too
high the machine tips over easily – Health & Safety and CE
Approval again checks this.
Roaster Width
–
If the machine is too wide your access through domestic doors is
restricted, making a site visit necessary or simply you can’t do
that job. The correct width to height ratio is again taken into
consideration during CE Approval.
Rotation
Speed –
The slower
the speed the better the roasting result. We have seen spit
roasters that spin around so fast the arms and legs of the
animals move and foul inside the spit roaster causing
catastrophic results and an end to that catering job when the
pig or lamb falls off the spit pole.
Independent
Steering -
The draw back
of inflatable wheels and tyres is that they always seem to go
flat when you least expect it. The tyres are very thin having
a tendency to puncture easily. We use independent heavy
duty steering casters on each corner making manoeuvrability
second to none and the only CE approved roaster to do this. The
wheelbarrow design simply doesn’t work in confined spaces.
4 x
Independent Brakes -
are fitted on
each of the four heavy duty casters.
Powdered
Coated? -
The oven is
made of 100% high-grade stainless steel. Powder coating is not
used for the oven as it burns off and the machines go rusty, as
you will see if you buy a second hand mild steel roaster.
Double
Skinned –
Parts of the
spit roast oven are double skinned and insulated; this has two
benefits.
-
Safety
- The double skin and insulation between
the skins reduces the temperature of the outside skin which is
CE Approval requirement just in case anyone accidentally touches
the spitroaster.
-
Insulation means better
internal temperatures and less LPG usage.
Cleaning –
A
removalable drip tray eases and reduces the cleaning process.
The drip tray has a 22mm spigot which holds any juices until
released.
Maintenance
–
An annual safety check is legally required for the gas and
electrical function of the machine. The majority of the spit
roaster is made from high grade stainless steel which requires
little of no maintenance and will give you many years of trouble
free usage.
